Summer, Are Your Here?

Cadance loves the pool.  I suppose this isn't such a horrible thing, except you can see the pool the moment you step out from our apartment door.  Also, you can see it from our patio door.  Cadance knows where the pool is and if we go outside she naturally wants to go to the pool.  She'll ride her bike or go for a walk or play on the steps, and then it's always the question, "pool?"  Expect, it's not actually a question, it's Cadance pointing and looking desperately at the pool while she walks in its direction.

As much as I love the spring weather we've been having, part of me really wishes the weather would spike 10 degrees to make my afternoons a whole lot easier.  No more question of what to do- we'll just go to the pool.

Mostly because I wanted to dress Cadance up in her new cute swimsuit and because I knew she wouldn't mind the cold water, we went to the pool last week.  I didn't get in, but Cadance played on the steps for the like an hour and had to be dragged home crying.

Cadance covered in probably unneeded sunscreen and mad that she's not in the pool yet.

Cadance excited that she's in the pool.
In other fantastic news, Steve has 5 more days of  medical school.  Not weeks, months, or years- days!

Happy Easter

We spent Easter morning in a hotel suite in Austin.  Cadance woke up and one of the first things she wanted to do (after giving Steve a hug) was go out into the living room.

I'm not sure what she expected to see, but she was excited by what she found

This was our first Easter egg hunt with Cadance.  I still don't know how I feel about the whole Easter bunny thing, but Cadance's excitement...I don't know...got me excited.

Residency

Many of you already know, but last Friday Steve and I found out where he will be working for residency.  Even though VCU was our second choice we were a little surprised when we saw the email.  Steve felt a little bad that he wasn't very faithful in his bracket.
But, we're excited.  Cadance will only be 4 hours away from her cousins.  We'll be only 2 hours from D.C.  So far, that's about all I know about Richmond.  I definitely have some homework to do, but for now I'm just happy to know.  For four years we've been waiting for this day and now we know.

Park Day

We are enjoying perfect weather in Arizona.  I'm definitely understanding why people buy winter homes down here.  Saturday we took a trip to the park.  Cadance loves going down the slide and running around.  She's currently obsessed with balls.  A couple of guys were playing basketball and she walked to the other side of the park to get the ball from them.  She succeeded, but luckily Dad was there to return the ball.  Cadance plays mostly well with here friend Naomi.  Naomi likes to play in the sand a lot.  Fun day!

Arizona Fun

We made it to Arizona.  We're staying with some friends while Steve works at the local ER.  We flew in yesterday afternoon and Steve arrived by car that evening.   It is so nice to be together as a whole family again.  Cadance went down last night before Steve got here.  This morning I got Cadance up and changed her diaper.  She was less then enthralled about the idea and was telling me about it in body and verbal language.  All of a sudden she stopped in her tracks and said, "da."  Steve had come into view.  It was great. She got all excited.

We decided to start off on the right foot and went to a local park.

Got to love the swings.  Her new favorite game is to act like she wants to get off then walk to the swing next to her to try that one out.

On a train ride around the park.

Looking at the ducks in the pond.

"Climbing" the rock wall.

Colorado Weekend

Steve is currently working in Colorado Springs, CO.  I am currently missing him.  But, we did get to visit him this past weekend.  It was lots of fun hanging out and playing with Cadance.  It also snowed.  Cadance was incredibly amazed by the white stuff.  She got excited every time she looked out the window.

This was her first time in the snow.  She was say excited until she tripped.  I don't think she knew her hands could be that cold.

Garden on the Gods.  They have amazing rock formations jutting out of the earth.  Pretty cool.

Getting ready to go out in the snow.  We prepared her properly this time.

Not really sure what to do with the snow.  A lot of it was too deep for her to walk in so she kept falling over. It was kind of hilarious.
